What does it do:
================
This contrib adds a real-time shipping method for UPS (United Parcel Service). Unlike the legacy CGI version, The XML version utilizes the Full UPS XML API interface to give exact quotes direct from the UPS quote server. It also supports full international shipping from any country to any country.

 

 

How is it different from the core version of UPS?
==================
The main thing is this version is just older than the core version. I created it before the one in the core was created.
There are a few features that the core doesn't offer:
  - Insurance Option
  - Automatic box splitting by configurable max weight
  - Option to display List or Discounted Rates
  - Additional hidden padding/discounting options for the rates with % support
  - Better error handling

Requirements:
================
To use the contrib, it will require a few things:
  * Quotes from UPS are given through your UPS OnLine Tools account. It’s a free account, and you can register for one here: http://www.ups.com/e_comm_access/toolintro?loc=en_US
  * cURL – This is an extension of php used for sending website requests in the background. This is used for requesting the quotes in the background. Most decent webhosting providers should have support for this.


Main features:

  * Full Domestic & International quote support. Automatically displays the proper quotes based on customer post code.
  * Configurable supported shipping methods. Choose from all available shipping service options and check the ones you will support on your store.
  * Full error message support. If there are account problems, or quote problems, or post code verification problems, it will display a proper notification (without scaring the customer).
  * Automatically Box splitting based on configurable max box weight.
  * Supports custom dimension sizes from admin area.
  * Supports live Insurance options.
  * Allows padding/discounting rates by percentage or flat fee. Separate settings for Dom and Intl
