USPS LIVE has been discontinued.

I will be focusing all efforts of improvement on the version of USPS that comes as part of the OpenCart core.

 

What does it do:
This contrib adds a real-time shipping method for USPS (United States Postal Service).
It utilizes the USPS XML API interface to give exact quotes direct from the USPS quote server.

Requirements:
To use the contrib, it will require a few things:
  * Quotes from USPS are given through your USPS WebTools account id. It’s a free account, and you can register for one here: https://secure.shippingapis.com/registration/
  * cURL – This is an extension of php used for sending website requests in the background. This is used for requesting the quotes in the background. Most decent webhosting providers should have support for this. It can also be enabled on home servers by uncommenting extension=php_curl.dll in your php.ini file. Check for “cURL support” from your admin “Configuration->Server Info” menu.
  * Since USPS is meant to be 'from' USA to other areas, the code requires that the store's country code is 'US' or it will not show.

Main features:
  * Full Domestic & International quote support. Automatically displays the proper quotes based on customer zip or country code.
  * Configurable supported shipping methods. Choose from all available postal service options and check the ones you will support on your store.
  * Support for displaying the transit time for each (supporting) service. For example if choosing “Priority Mail” you can also chose to display the returned transit time: (1-2 days).
  * Full error message support. If there are account problems, or quote problems, or zip code verification problems, it will display a proper notification (without scaring the customer).
